The Journey of Self-Discovery

Which card could be helpful in understanding the idea of self-discovery?

 VII of Wands

Self-discovery is not only a battle within yourself, it is a battle for other people that are on the side lines observing your growth. For this reason, you will be in battles with others that do not understand your ways and cannot comprehend the concept of growth. The scariest thing that someone can become is a person that is comfortable within their truth and power.

Does self-discovery help us in a practical sense?

VI of Wands

The art of self-discovery leads to more joy in everyday life and to the wonders of success. When you discover all of the beautiful aspects of yourself, there is nothing you can’t accomplish.

Is there an end to self-discovery?

II of Pentacles

Self-discovery does not end! It is part of your life’s journey to figure out the ins and outs of this life of Earth while also maintaining our spiritual, ethical, and moral principles in unison. Finding ourselves is an epic battle with many wins and loses that must be navigated around the trials of life.

What can we do with our discovered self?

VII of Cups

When you discover your true essence and power there is nothing that can stop you. You can go in any direction you choose and pick your own path in life without retaining the negativity of judgment from others. The act of discovery leads to expansion, opening you up to a world filled with more opportunities and possibilities.

Any other insights or advice for those that are on the journey?

VIII of Pentacles

Your journey requires hard-work and diligence. It won’t always be easy and occasionally will require blood, sweat and tears, but at the end it definitely will be worth it.

The Fool’s Journey – The Chariot (VII)

IMG_3681

Because the Major Arcana represents the Fool’s Journey, or our journey here as Spirit in the human form, the Chariot is the last card in the Major Arcana that represents us in the developmental stage. This card marks the end of our development and signifies scope and potential. If we choose to move forward, then victory will be assured. Note, that because this is the end of the developmental stage, it does not mean that we cease to learn as shown through the rest of the Major Arcana.

The Sphinxes represent Osiris, Egyptian God of the Underworld, and also the God of regeneration, resurrection, and most important of all, transition. The Magician is the one that drives the Chariot. Notice that he does so through summoning his will through his wand.

The star canopy represents our connection to the Universe and reminds us that we are star dust. The two crescent moons are a reminder that we are influenced by that of the heavens.  The mercurial wings signify communication and is the tool that the Magician will take with him on his journey.

Remember that when you are on the Chariot, you will be pulled around by wild forces. As you will need power to gain control, you must ask yourself: where am I sending my will? Wild forces will pull you around if you don’t know where you’re going.

Archangel Gabriel, the messenger of the Gods comes in with fire, light and passion, which represents love. He is the messenger of the force and continuation of life.

Adam and Eve work in partnership with Eve representing the anima, that which brings IN new concepts and Adam representing the animus, that which brings OUT the concept Eve has brought in. In simpler terms, Adam will help bring the ideas that Eve created to fruition.

The Lovers represent the highest concept of duality throughout the Tarot and shows us that you can’t have one without the other. There must be balance and harmony, and this is shown through the interconnectedness of everything in this card.

The two stand in the Garden of Eden, which represents awareness of yourself as an individual, which is also the first step to enlightenment. Adam looks at Eve, which shows that the animus or the ego, must sometimes turn to the anima, or the subconscious and intuition. Eve turns to the Archangel showing that she recognises where she comes from, which is the Divine. Eve also stands in front of the Tree of Knowledge as seen with the serpent looking down. Because of this, in Tarot, a serpent or snake will usually represent knowledge when depicted on a card. Either you have the knowledge you seek, or there is something being withheld from you in the form of a secret.

This card enforces the importance of emotional responsibility, especially when it comes to the need to make an important decision.

In regards to relationships, one must remember that faith will often challenge the lovers, so it is essential to make good choices to stay on the right path. Relationships also have a reciprocal quality that leads to self-healing. Wholeness results from women embracing their maleness and from men embracing their femaleness.

The Universe is reminding you that in order to move forward with your aspirations, that you need to move on, and you know exactly what that means. This represents a new stage in your life that you are about to embark on and it is time for you to give it the full amount of attention that it truly deserves. You must leave your comfort zone and dedicate yourself to the process. This is the time for unwavering focus and determination. Remember, that just because you leave something behind, it does not mean that you can’t one day return to it. It is just that for today, it is not serving your best interest. People in your life may not understand why you are making this decision, and by default, try to convince you otherwise. Trust that you know the way and realise that it is your journey and not theirs.

If you are fortunate enough to receive this card in a reading, then you are nearing the destination of your journey. You can slowly dust yourself off and tend to any scratches or injuries incurred during the trip. You have made it and you are definitely on the right path! The Divine is working with you and are currently righting any wrongs that you may have experienced. If you hit another bump at this ending stage, then it is because the Universe is trying to get your attention and wants you to be gracious. The scales are tipping in your favour.
