Strength is the first of the next 7 cards to represent the lessons of independence. Yellow is the colour of Spirit and is a reminder that true strength has no physicality. Brute force is not the same as mental fortitude. The flowers portray our gentle strength like that of mother nature and the red roses portray will and desire. Recognising that you are as magnificent as mother nature is how you will find your strength. She is gentle and compassionate – both signs of strength, and she wears a white robe representing her purity that she uses for the greater good. The lion represents the carnal self and your inner beast. True strength comes from your ability to tame and balance the beast, but at the same time you must learn not to prepress your passions in the process. Your passion is what drives and feeds you, while repressed passion causes illness and misery. Getting the two right is your responsibility to your Spirit, because sometimes you have to let your lion roar.
