The Fool’s Journey – The Empress

FullSizeRender

The Empress is the card of expansion, and is suggested by the pomegranates on her dress, which represent fertility. She is the Mother of Earth and can represent a person incarnate, Spirit, or one’s desire of motherhood (fatherhood). This is the Venus. The sceptre she holds represents her place in the world and her connectedness to Earth and the Universe. This is also displayed by the 12 stars on her crown, which symbolizes the 12 zodiac signs – her relationship to the planets. She is surrounded by the colour yellow representing Spirit as it comes into the material world and crops representing abundance.

Depending on context and the surrounding cards present, this card may suggest that even though you mean well, perhaps you are mothering others too much. You can’t take responsibility for the actions of other people. This card can also stipulate that perhaps you’re not mothering yourself well enough. To love unconditionally is to love yourself first, so how are you doing this? Are you giving yourself what you need? Do you even know what it is that you need?

The Empress is the definition of fertility and represents your ability to grow any idea into fruition. Either you’ve already started nurturing your ideas and are currently manifesting your goals or you aren’t doing enough, and the Universe is reminding you to get on with it!

Make no mistake by misjudging her nurturing character as women mimic the creative forces of the Universe. Mother nature can be cruel and she won’t hesitate to destroy something in order for something better to exist.

Discovery Draw – The Fountain (12-card spread)

Today’s draw was The Fountain from the The Fountain Tarot. In this particular deck, this card is an addition to the Major Arcana representing both oneness and nothingness at the same time.

In my opinion, this is what we should all aspire to. When you achieve the true realization that we are all indeed one, all part of the collective as a whole and without separates, then you can reach a state of nothingness. A state of nothingness being where the trivial stresses and challenges of life no longer has as big of an impact on you.

It is this state that brings about the inner Zen that we all possess, but so often lose. I recognize that this is quite ambitious, but nonetheless is that which we should strive for.

I personally adore this card, and it is my favourite out of all the tarot decks I’ve come across. Below is a spread that I created from the inspiration provided to me from The Fountain Tarot.

The Fountain Spread

Top (fixed): The Fountain. This is a fixed position and it should always be The Fountain. If you don’t have this deck, pick a card in your current deck that you closely relate to the idea of oneness.

Before the reading, take this card out and put it in is designated position at the top.

Bottom Middle: You and what you currently represent.

5 cards on the Right: The right represents your internal emotions and unconscious. These cards will show what you are doing right or what you should work on in order to reach The Fountain.

5 cards on the Left: The left represents everything in your physical world – your conscious world. These cards will show what you are doing right or what you should work on in the material world in order to reach The Fountain.

The cards should work themselves upward building a ‘staircase’, which is the path to oneness and nothingness.

Enjoy!

Receive the nurturing, healing energy the Universe is know giving you. Use it to heal your mind and refocus on your goals in order for the Empress to grow the success of your ambitions in her womb. Release the fear that you hold onto and the fruitless worries you maintain about being unsuccessful in the achievement of your goals. Come back ready with the confidence to pursue your ideas with the knowledge and acceptance that you can achieve what it is that you wish as long as you allow your Spirit to transcend the material nonsense of the human experience in the physical world.

From the readings I have been doing lately, it is apparent the the collective is in distress and all is need in widespread healing. I’ve decided to a quick reading for those that feel they need healing at the moment, as we as a collective have been suffering from the lack of compassion that has been going around.

Discovery Draw – Key of Life

Discovery Draw

The Goddess Aset (more commonly known as the Goddess Isis) spins the ankh – the symbol of life, and an object that is seen being held by most in Egyptian hieroglyphs. For me, this is such a powerful interpretation of Aset, the Mother Goddess, because she holds life in the palm of her hand. She controls and commands it, and by doing so creates a ring of fire around her. Fire is the passion that we all breathe, and that breath is what gives us life. The fact that she stands in front of mountains shows her standing in front of the Higher Self and her transcendence of us all.

If you are fortunate to receive this card, you must ask yourself: what is life? What does it mean to you? Most importantly, you must ask yourself…are you living it?

Discovery Draw – 5 of Wands

Discovery Draw 5 of Wands

In The Wild Unknown Tarot on the left, the wands are flying all over the place. They are each on their own path trying to travel to their chosen direction, yet all have another wand crossing its path. This card denotes competition. Notice that they are not swords. The fact that they are wands and not swords can also indicate a period of training, or honing your skills or craft for a future project. If you receive this card, keep on the lookout for others who may potentially cause a bump on your road. If you are prepared you will come out on top as demonstrated in the After Tarot on the right.

Oracle – Removing Blockages

Oracle

You have allowed yourself to be burdened by the obligations that someone else has arbitrarily set upon you, and you now wrestle with the internal need to stand up for yourself and the desire to keep the peace. The stressed caused by this inner turmoil does not serve you, and in order to remove this blockage, you must not allow yourself to become complacent with the idea of others regularly over-stepping their boundaries. It is also possible that you have explicitly contributed to your current position if you’ve made no previous efforts in the past to set external limits. It is up to you to choose if you want to continue living in debt to others, or if you want to live to serve yourself. Allow yourself to feel empowered knowing that acting for the loving benefit of yourself does not mean disrespect to that of another. If you choose the latter, remember cut the ties with compassion so that you can reattach them with love.

If you have stumbled across this post today, then things of importance will need to be sacrificed to make way for the necessary purification that your life requires of you at the present. You can either take the leap yourself and begin the healing process, or let the Universe take over and sort it for you. If you choose the latter, I promise it will be painful and recovery will take longer. This is the result of unsuccessfully balancing too many plates in the air. You thought you had the ability to handle it all, but ultimately ended up overexerting yourself in the process causing the demise of something you held dearly to your heart.

Take time for yourself in order to reform a relationship with your Spirit. Quiet the mind and be kind to yourself during this time. Refocus your energy by allowing yourself to engage in something that you enjoy. Nourish your Soul and tend to you heart. Things may have not worked out the way you intended, but make no mistake, the outcome had nothing to do with the lack of your personal abilities or talents. It simply occurred the way the Universe has intended for it to be. The sooner that you return to the reality that everything happens for a reason; the sooner you can make progress in the next phase of your journey.
