‘2’ is the number of balance. The pillars represent the pillars at the Temple of Solomon, with the third pillar representing spirituality and the psyche. The High Priestess is the third pillar. The cross symbolises the 4 Earthly elements, as when you fold it, it will form a cube representing the physical form- the form in which we all reside in. The Priestess’s headdress is the Headdress of Iris, the mother goddess. The new moon represents new beginnings and the water at the bottom of her robe represents emotions and consciousness. The moon influences waters symbolising our interconnectedness of Spirit and Earth.
She holds the Tora containing the natural laws of the Universe. She sits in front of a veil. This reminds us that we must look behind the veil, or look within ourselves. On the other side are your true feelings and intuition. You must ask yourself: what will I find on the other side? When you look within yourself with open arms and an open heart you find balance, and most importantly, you find answers.
